Last month’s Pack Expo event in Chicago, Illinois was a huge success for the Fres-co team, as two impressive machines – the G14 and the FSU800 – were both on display for the thousands of attendees who crisscrossed the grounds of the sprawling McCormick Place convention center.
Over the course of the four days in which the event took place, I had the chance to speak with a number of knowledgeable people, many of whom are passionate about the future of the packaging industry.
One of the people I had the great pleasure of speaking with was Sam Lewis, editor for Food Online. Sam was making his rounds and interviewing several exhibitors, presenters and event representatives about a wide range of topics that covered the latest in food processing and packaging technology, product-inspection and traceability technology, and federal and global food safety regulations.
During our three-minute interview, we covered a variety of different talking points, from the importance of versatility in the packaging industry, to the necessity for strict regulations on hygienic practices, especially when it comes to aseptic packaging.
