Valves

Fres-co manufactures degassing valves that are sealed into the packaging material and are designed for preservation of products such as Coffee.
Freshly roasted coffee emits carbon dioxide (CO2) and if the valve is not used, ground coffee needs up to 24 hours to fully degas, and whole bean coffee takes 4-5 weeks to completely degas before being packaged in a hermetically sealed container.
During this degassing process the coffee my be subject to degradation due to oxygen, which quickly makes the coffee go stale. It was Fres-co who invented the degassing valve for coffee, which allowed the packaging of the coffee to be done immediately after roasting to ensure the freshest possible taste. The valve allows for the CO2 to exit the package, but will not allow oxygen or other gases back in.
In addition, we offer valves for Industrial and Pet Food applications that allow for the release of entrapped air in the package; thus preserving hermetic seals and providing fit, stability and space advantages in palletization and distribution.

The Fres-co System one-way degassing valve allows a gas / vapor substance to pass through in one direction but not in the opposite one.
