Optimal packaging of the product cannot be achieved unless the packaging equipment works in synergy with the packaging material.  As a systems supplier, Fres-co produces a variety of form, fill and seal packaging equipment for free flowing and non-free flowing products.  Our engineering group supports all equipment provided by Fres-co and we also stock spare parts in our Telford facility.

We understand that the most critical juncture in packaging is machine start-up and when our customers purchase packaging equipment from Fres-co, we provide extensive engineering expertise. Because our engineers are intimately knowledgeable with the machine requirements, there is never a worry about a disconnect between the machinery supplier and packaging converter over the performance specifications. As a systems supplier, we are accountable!

For dry food applications, Fres-co offers the following high performance packaging equipment:

Square Bottom/Side Gusseted and Pillow Package formats

• Gas Flush Packaging Machines: 
  Fres-co’s line of gas flush, vertical, form, fill, seal automated packaging equipment can produce both square bottom, side gusseted packages, as well as back fin-seal pillow pouches.  Typical products that can be packaged on Fres-co machines include, drink mixes, pasta, dried fruits, baking mixes, bulk candy or nuts and coffee. 
  
  Our GL-18 (intermittent motion) and GL-18C (continuous motion)  are gas flush machines that can run a variety of package sizes, offer simple and quick change-over between sizes and are equipped with easy to use Allen Bradley controls . These machines can package a variety of dry food powders, particulates or bulk products in foil and all-plastic laminates.. 
  
  The GL-14 (intermittent motion) or GL-14C (continuous motion) combines the features of the GL-18C with a finishing conveyor that allows for application of value-added consumer features like Fres-close®, tin-tie, reseal tape and Half Moon Die Cut for easy opening.  Our Corner Seal® Technology delivers a unique side gusset package that stands out on the shelf. 
   
•  Vacuum Packaging Machines:
  Fres-co is a world-wide leader in vacuum packaging systems used to package a variety of granulated or powdered products. Common applications are for coffee brick packs, rice, yeast and other dry products that require extremely low oxygen content.  The GL-26  is an automatic machine that vacuum packages, with partial or total gas flush, at speeds from 30- 75 pieces per minute.  The GL-22 is a higher speed version of the GL-26 where greater output is desired.
   
• Unique Packaging Features: 
  Fres-co also offers a variety of unique package and convenience features to ensure that your product stands out on the shelf. Fres-co’s Corner Seal® technology provides a crisp, well-defined shape on your side gusseted package so it stands out on the store shelf.  By individually sealing each corner, you have the full front and back panels of the package for your graphics.  This feature is available for both rollstock and premade bag applications  
  
  Reclose Features:  In addition to in-line Tin-tie application, resealable tape and zipper reclosures,  Fres-co created Fres-close®, an easy-to-use reclose solution for side-gusseted bags that is applied in-line, improves freshness and adds value to your package. 
   
• Automatic Premade Pouch Filling Machines:
  The GL-90 packaging system for dry products offers the benefits of rollstock and premade pouches combined in one.  This machine is capable of running both flat and stand-up pouches with fitments and zippers for large food-service sized items as well as smaller stand-up pouches for the retail market. Our multi-ply printed pouches can contain a variety of dry powders, particulates and large pieces.

High Speed Pouch Filling Machines

• GAMMA Series Pouch Machines:
  The GAMMA series of 4-sided pouch machines for powders and granular products provides multiple lane output at speeds up to 300 packages per lane and reduced material usage at an economical price.   Starting from rollstock, this automatic form, fill, seal pouch system fills via auger or dosing cup into a variety of paper, film or foil combinations. Downstream collation and automatic cartoning are available.
  
  The BETA shaped pouch machine model produces custom shaped pouches from rollstock to provide a unique marketing impression.  Available in single or multi-lanes, this unique machine can fill a variety of dry products via auger dosing. Downstream collation and automatic cartoning are available.
   
• ALPHA Series Stick-Pack Machines:
  The ALPHA SERIES Stick-pack machines for powders and granular products provides up to 20 lane output at speeds up to 100 packages per minute at an economical price.  Starting from rollstock, this automatic form, fill, seal system fills via auger or dosing cup into a variety of paper, film or foil combinations.  Downstream collation and automatic cartoning are available.
